\nSeveral decades ago (primarily in the 1980\u2019s), a revolution
\noccurred in the marketing of pharmaceutical products. These
\nproducts were previously marketed almost exclusively to
\nphysicians and other direct providers of care. Beginning in the
\n80\u2019s, this radically changed. With the marketing of drugs like
\nPropecia, Prozac, and later, a flood of sleeping pills (Ambien,
\nLunesta) and erectile dysfunction drugs (Viagra, Cealis), the
\npharmaceutical marketing world was transformed. Since then, this
\ntrend has carried over (although a bit less dramatically) to other
\naspects of health care.
