\nThe aim of this assessment task is to assess the extent to which you have understood and
\ninternalized knowledge regarding the structures, processes, systems, challenges and
\nopportunities in freight transportation and how well you can translate this knowledge into a
\npractical business situation. It requires you to critically examine not just the systems and
\nprocesses but the context within which they occur.

\nYou will \u2018establish\u2019 a commercial company in Australia with a major client in an overseas
\ncountry. Your company products are exported to the client. All your company\u2019s shipments are
\nassumed to be delivered by third-party logistics companies. You use your own established
\ncompany to represent your knowledge of the complexity of international freight
\ntransportation operations through a Transportation Plan. You are required to:
\n\u2022 Create a clear identity for your organization, including its commercial activities,
\nlocations of core operations, & a key product involved; and the location of your
\noverseas major client,
\n\u2022 Clearly propose at least three (03) sales quotations, in which a specific Incoterms
\nrule 2020 will be used in each sales quotation, for your client to import your
\ncompany\u2019s product into their destination with discussing the roles,
\nresponsibilities, types of costs for each business participant (your company and
\nthe client) for every sales quotation, and stating the reasons what sales quotation
\nyou prefer,
\n\u2022 Clearly map out at least two (02) alternative freight transportation routes for
\neach sales quotation due to your company\u2019s obligation defined by the Incoterms
\nrule used in every sales quotation,
\n\u2022 Collect data of transport cost and time for a detailed comparative analysis of the
\nalternative routes and suggest the best route(s) for each sales quotation.

\nPresent your findings and analysis in a research essay format. Your research paper should 2,000
\n(\u00b15%) words in length. A word count declaration is required at the end of the paper or at the

\n\u2022 Your transportation plan will be put through the Turnitin system to determine the
\nSimilarity Index. For this assessment, a Similarity Index 20% and below will be
\npermitted. The percentage tends to be higher due to RMIT Assignment Cover Sheet so
\ndon\u2019t be too concerned. The report will clearly list percentage of similarity per source.

\nThe transportation plan will be assessed according to the following criteria (out of 50 marks):
\n\u2022 Executive Summary (4.0 marks). Succinct summary of main findings and recommendations.
\n\u2022 Organization\u2019s Identity (6.0 marks). Comprehensive coverage of your organization +
\nproduct + client information.
\n\u2022 Quotation Proposal (12.0 marks). Quotations associated with roles, responsibilities, and costs.
\n\u2022 Freight Transportation Routes (12.0 marks). Alternative freight transportation associated with
\ninternational freight transportation activities.
\n\u2022 Recommended Routes (12.0 marks). Comparative analysis of the alternative routes and
\nsuggest the best route(s) for each quotation.

\nand analysis.
