\nYour tasks (Main Report Specifications)
\nThis assignment is essentially a two-part assignment;
\nthe first part of the assignment will concentrate on
\nthe analysis of the business and the type of data the
\nbusiness uses on a daily basis.
\nPart A: Upon selecting one of the scenarios, you are
\nrequired to complete the following requirements.
\n\uf0b7 Industry background: Review the industry
\ninvolved in the chosen data set and provide a
\nbrief yet comprehensive overview of that
\nindustry sector, including brief history*, current
\nenvironment* and transformations* and future
\nscope*. (\u201c*\u201d see assignment guide for further info)
\n\uf0b7 Business model and environment: Identify the
\nbusiness model best suited to the scenarios as
\nwell as identifying their target audience and
\nvalue proposition. Using the following analysis
\nmethods conduct an analysis of the chosen
\nbusiness.
\no SWOT analysis
\no Porters 5 forces.
\n\uf0b7 Excel Tasks: Complete the unfinished
\nspreadsheets with appropriate field labels. Also
\nwhere necessary provide additional columns
\n(with appropriate formulas) to meet the
\ninformation needs of the business. Then use the spreadsheet data to identify three (3) trends or insights that a
\nmanager can identify to gain a competitive advantage.
\nPart B: The second part of the assignment will be mainly focused on developing a non-functioning business website
\nmock-up. As a designer, you may consult with your tutor to ensure you accurately reflect the requirements of your
\nproposed design. You must also consider basic design principles to justify your design and user interface. As well as the
\nweb and design elements, a vital part of this assignment is the perceived business advantage; you must be able to prove
\nthat the business will benefit from your design. Tasks for this part of the assignment include:
\n\uf0b7 Design a minimum of three (3) main prototype pages for your proposed website. Including a Main page (homepage)
\nand a Purchasing \/bookings page (dependant on the chosen scenario) with a direct design reference to the product
\ncategories from the spreadsheet. Also create a simulated selected output product page.
\n\uf0b7 Discuss the elements within those pages in relation to the design principles and web usability guidelines (choose 3
\nHCI design principles and 3 web usability guidelines).
\n\uf0b7 Identify three (3) additional customer tools and or engagement methods the website can use to increase its
\ncompetitive advantage.

\nSeveral small business scenarios with accompanying
\nraw data sets are available to you (via the unit website).
\nAll of which require a detailed business analysis and the
\ndevelopment of a mock-up business web site. Your task
\nis to choose one of these scenarios for which you will
\ncomplete the tasks as detailed in Parts A and B. The
\nbusiness scenarios include;
\n1. Honest Jim Carsales \u2013 A car sales company with
\nover 29 years\u2019 experience in the car industry.
\n2. Harry\u2019s Bikes \u2013 Harry\u2019s shop started small and is
\nnow importing bikes from all over the world.

\nhome design with 20 years\u2019 experience now
\nexpanding to a national level.

\nwishes to develop an online presence to promote
